Lares Valley
4 day Trek
*** LV4G Lares Valley 4 day Group Service 2010
***

Note for clients with Inca Trail
bookings with Peru Treks: If the standard 4 day Inca Trail trek to
Machu Picchu remains closed during March & April then this 4 day
Lares Valley trek will be offered as an alternative in accordance
with our Inca Trail trek terms and conditions. The trek deposit of
US$175 per person is non-refundable and will be transferred to the
Lares Valley Trek. Clients will only be asked to pay the balance
of the Lares Valley trek and not the full price of the Inca Trail
trek. In the past we have used local horseman and pack-animals to
carry the loads on this trek, however this year we intend to use
our Inca trail porters to carry the loads (this will have to done
with the agreement of the local communities on the Lares trek). Although this is much
more expensive for us we hope to keep our porters in full time
work until the standard Inca trail is open and running as normal.
We may also have to pay local fees to the villages that we pass
through during this trek so as to share in some of the profits of
tourism. Peru Treks has allowed for about 20 Soles (US$6) per
person for these fees included in the price of the trek. (4
communities x 5 soles per person). For obvious reasons
the trek
does not include a visit to Machu Picchu.
